To be honest I haddn’t heard of Westerly Wines until I paid a visit to my local Total Wine shop a few weeks ago.
I was actually on the hunt for a key ingredient in this and the only place that carried it close to me was Total Wine. They happened to be having thier daily wine sampling at the time of my visit and Westerly Wines CEO Michael Speakman was there pouring tastings of their 93 point 2013 Pinot Noir and thier amazing 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon.
Needless to say, they were both spectacular. And yes, I walked out of there with a bottle of each. I also got to taste their 2011 Merlot that Michael brought with and which was equally impressive, but sadly only available online.

As soon as I tasted the 2013 pinot at Total Wine I knew it was going to be the wine I would serve Thanksgiving day. And, I’m so glad I did, It paired so beautifully with my classic turkey dinner. It is a bold pinot with a smooth fruity finish. If you are a fan of pinots and have yet to try it, I highly recommend!!
What wine if any did you serve this Thanksgiving? I’d love to hear!
Cheers, I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
