STYLING A CORDUROY BUTTON UP SKIRT

corduroy button-up skirt

I hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day weekend. Who’s looking forward to a short work week? This week will be extra short for me, as my boyfriend and I fly out to NYC on Wednesday. Woohoo!

I’m so excited I get to be in town during NYFW. Since I’m still fairly new at fashion blogging, I won’t be making it to any shows. I will be attending a blogger conference (#SCCON18) while I’m there, which I’m very much looking forward to. Hopefully, I will also have enough time to see a few sights, feast my eyes on as much NYFW street style as I can, and perhaps catch a show. We shall see what transpires.

Onto today’s look… As of late, I’ve been seeing corduroy button-up skirts in almost every clothing store I walk into. Which makes sense, because they are a great fall staple.

While the weather is still warm, you can wear them with a cool tee or halter top and sandals or sneakers. As the weather cools down, you can throw on a leather jacket and booties for an edgy look.

One of my favorite ways of styling them is with a sleeveless turtleneck and boots or booties. No doubt because of the 70’s vibe it gives off, which you know I’m always here for.

Here are some other cute tops I think would look great with a corduroy skirt.

Because of the skirts’ simple silhouette, you can also wear it with a slouchy sweater and OTK boots. For particularly chilly days, you can’t go wrong with a crisp white button up shirt and scarf along with a pair of tights and OTK boots or booties.

I don’t have a pair yet, but I’ve been on the hunt for a pair of white booties, which I think we could totally rock with a corduroy button-up skirt too.
