FRIDAY SIPS: THE BACCHANALIAN

The Bacchanalian Cocktail

Happy Friday! Please do not let the title of today’s Friday Sips scare you away. Its bark is way stronger than it’s bite. Although the title of today’s sip sounds like something you want no part of. Trust me, it’s actually quite a refreshing drink, almost sangria like if you will.

I happened to come across this recipe as I was trying to find a Mardi Gras inspired cocktail to share with you. I totally had the intention of making something like a hurricane or a sazerac. But I thought those are so… been there done that.

When I came across The Bacchanalian; a cocktail the renowned Louisiana Mixologist Chris Hannah created. I was like, yes this is perfect! This is exactly what I’ve got to make for you guys.

For years now I’ve been dying to spend Mardi Gras in New Orleans, stuff my face with crawfish and beignets, dance my tooshie off, you know… the whole bit. I just haven’t had the chance to.

Have you guys spent Mardi Gras in New Orleans? What was it like, what was your favorite sip? I’d love to know! Wishing you an amazing weekend, thanks so much for reading! x -j
